We’re delighted to share the news that Branagh PR has joined Lamp as a business member.

Lamp is a fantastic independent charity that provides free mental health advocacy for people in Leicestershire and Rutland.

Branagh PR has more than a decade’s experience in promoting positive mental health in the workplace and has joined a growing number of businesses collaborating with the Leicester-based organisation to spread the word and raise funds.

Recently, we teamed up with Lamp's excellent comms team in promoting a collaboration with The Funk Academy,  a clothing design firm that produced T-shirts with a 'Talk' message to raise funds for the charity.

So here are some facts about Lamp and the work it does:
  • Lamp is an independent mental health charity founded in 1989 and based in Regent Road, Leicester
  • Its services are confidential, trusted and non-judgemental, providing free community mental health advocacy for people living in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland
  • Its stated aim is for people to feel valued, listened to and more able to cope, and to be able to access the services to support their needs
  • Those services include health advocacy, peer advocacy and carers support
  • Lamp’s business members range from lawyers and insurance providers to councils and building societies. You can find out more about joining here
  • You can volunteer for Lamp, with opportunities in administration, marketing, fundraising, events and mental health support
  • And if you want to fundraise for Lamp, you can either come up with your own idea or download its fundraising pack to help get you on track with fun, engaging ideas to raise money, general information on fundraising, and tips on how to plan a good event

My professional body, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, has run a campaign to encourage members to become Chartered. I'm all for it, and here's why.

I was recently invited to join the advisory council to the Board of my professional body, the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR). I want to see how I can do my bit to promote my profession.
